When we opened the box of goodies from our good friends at Mil-Spec Monkey the Cool Guy DLUX Hat immediately stood out. With two bright blue ear plugs jutting out from the back of the hat its definitely not the hat of choice for a night on the town; except for front row at the monster truck rally. At the range however it does an outstanding job. The hearing protection has stood up to .380 and 5.56 on fully auto and everything in between. The retractors are still holding strong as well which removes having to use bulky earphone, annoying corded plugs or easily-misplaced loose plugs. The large Velcro sections allow for the display of almost any patch be it unit insignia or our favorite MSM morale patches. For morale patch display as well as functionality at the range.
